India is a country teeming in youth, with 70 % of people below the age of 40 years. While 34% of India’s Gross National Income is contributed by the youth; there is a dire need to develop this percentage. In fact, youth today, is a major resource for not only development of financial prosperity but for social changes as well. In today’s day and age, young minds should have access to resources to transform their consciousness through their beliefs, values, and attitudes.
Our Youth Empowerment Program is a process where children and young people are encouraged to take charge of their lives. They do this by addressing their situation and then take action in order to improve their access to resources and transform their consciousness through their beliefs, values, and attitudes. Youth empowerment aims to improve quality of life. Youth empowerment is achieved through participation in youth empowerment programs. This programs is aimed at creating healthier and higher qualities of life for underprivileged or at-risk youth. Youth empowerment examines six interdependent dimensions: psychological, community, organizational, economic, social and cultural.
YET organizes Youth Camps and Cultural Programs for young people time to time. Music, dance, quizzes, speech, talent shows are the most popular activities in Youth Camps. These camps cater to educational thrush of young people as well as moral and social awareness too. Young people from various background come together for local and outdoor camps to get a platform for their talents and to learn from each other. Life transforming stories are heard out of some camps. Various educational games are also conducted in Youth camps for the intellectual growth of young people.
Along with camps YET also organizes Education Tours for young people. Group of young people are taken to historical places, museums and other educational ventures to get a boost to their knowledge and also to be acquainted to the ancient and contemporary events of our country.
Music concerts, Indoor games competitions and Workshops on various issues are also organized by YET time to time for young people.
Skill Development:
Skill development is one of the vital program for young people run by YET. We select underprivileged young boy or girl those have basic education and send them to a professional institute where they can learn skill of their choice. YET sponsors several young people to do skill development training such as computer course, hardware training, mobile phone repair, automobile training, etc. These trainings are given by professional Institutes, while YET takes care of the financial needs of young people to get such training.
